A capacity audience at the B.A.W.A. Leisure Centre were enthralled by a superb 16 act show.
Aptly named Wolverhampton singer SAMANTHA STARR proved she is one of the top vocalists in
the country with a slick Set including one self-penned song

Singer/songwriter Samantha Starr is charismatic and engaging. A good line in crowd approach and a well-dressed artist, who gave us a good self-penned song called Was It Something I Said. I do hope that Starr lives up to her name as she certainly has much going for her.

pretty and well turned out singer Samantha Starr who is looking to branch
out and try other work. Singing with conviction and integrity in the phrasing, Starr could conceivably live up to her name, especially given the friendly and undemanding approach and the chance she provided for the Showcall audience to hear self-penned material. Samantha Starr is promising in every department and
has certainly progressed since her last Showcall sojourn

Wolverhampton girl Samantha Starr has made giant strides since her Showcall appearance last year, enough to make several bookers believe that she will
live up to her surname. For one thing, her self-written song is full of promise and This Is My Song showed the richness of her voice. On top of that she is a real looker. One for that special notebook, I believe.

`Elegantly dressed and very young looking vocalist Samantha Starr sings while wearing
her heart on her sleeve. Lots of guts and conviction here, I have not heard Sandie Shaw's Long
Live Love for many a year and the overall impression here was of a young lady with bags of promise.`

`The audience appreciated not only her professional appearance, but her wide choice of covers.
You wouldn't expect a performer so young to pick tunes by the likes of Helen Shapiro, Petula Clark, Sandie Shaw and Doris Day for that she deserves credit.

Young Midlands looking vocalist looks like a confident performer. The materiala
real cross section of styles... This was an impressive set from an attractively presented entertainer and the overall performance should have made this waif
- like creature a fair few new friends...
